Hello:
We are considering doing rhe Flor and Fjaere excursion out of Stavanger. But our logistics to get to the starting place from Trondheim appear to be pretty expensive no matter what way I try, due to airline commitments on the back end of our Norway trip.
So..I am curious to hear if this is an amazing excursion, worth the $400 plus $200-$400 of.transport, plus air or train connections from Trondheim and oslo! Help!

We loved this! My daughter and I were shocked at how it was not mentioned on most tourist things to do. If you love gardens at all, I would not miss it even with the extra cost of transport. The story of how it came to be is quite interesting, and then the guides take you through the various gardens. When you get off the boat, you are directed to a guide that speaks your language. For us, it was just my daughter and I and then a Swiss family of 3. All the groups were quite small. The restaurant was very good, and interesting it itself. The beach area was a huge surprise. Truly, if you have the time and enjoy gardens at all, I would not miss it.

That does look like a wonderful place to visit! I might have seen it advertised, but we had other things planned to fill our days. If I go back to Stavanger, I would probably take that tour. We had a car, so we stayed at an apartment next to the marina at Jorpeland and rode the bus into Stavanger. Jorpelandsholmen (an island park with a walking bridge to it) was close to our apartment and we enjoyed walking over there nightly and taking the trails around the island.
