Hello:
We are considering doing rhe Flor and Fjaere excursion out of Stavanger. But our logistics to get to the starting place from Trondheim appear to be pretty expensive no matter what way I try, due to airline commitments on the back end of our Norway trip.
So..I am curious to hear if this is an amazing excursion, worth the $400 plus $200-$400 of.transport, plus air or train connections from Trondheim and oslo! Help!

We loved this! My daughter and I were shocked at how it was not mentioned on most tourist things to do. If you love gardens at all, I would not miss it even with the extra cost of transport. The story of how it came to be is quite interesting, and then the guides take you through the various gardens. When you get off the boat, you are directed to a guide that speaks your language. For us, it was just my daughter and I and then a Swiss family of 3. All the groups were quite small. The restaurant was very good, and interesting it itself. The beach area was a huge surprise. Truly, if you have the time and enjoy gardens at all, I would not miss it.

That does look like a wonderful place to visit! I might have seen it advertised, but we had other things planned to fill our days. If I go back to Stavanger, I would probably take that tour. We had a car, so we stayed at an apartment next to the marina at Jorpeland and rode the bus into Stavanger. Jorpelandsholmen (an island park with a walking bridge to it) was close to our apartment and we enjoyed walking over there nightly and taking the trails around the island.
Are you visiting the parks and gardens in Oslo?
I’ve never been to Norway before, but I’m going there at the end of October. The whole trip will be around 10 days, and we’re planning to stay in Stavanger for two days. I’m curious if you would recommend doing the preikestolen cruise while we’re there, or if two days is too short to fit it in. Also, is it already going to be very cold at the end of October? I’m trying to figure out what kind of clothes to pack and whether we should expect much rain or rough weather. Would really appreciate any advice or tips from people who have been there around this time
We have done a rib boat there, but it was late August. That said, our first trip to Norway was in mid/late October and while we did not go to Stavanger on that trip, we did do the NIN and actually had beautiful weather. That was not the norm form what the locals were saying, but we were very happy with it. I would just plan for the worst and wear layers and then you are set.
