The Rick Steves guide for the Netherlands talks about how great the TripKey pass is for getting around Amsterdam and the Netherlands. However, it appears that it is not currently in operation. Can anyone tell me if a TripKey pass might be available in July when we visit the Netherlands for three weeks. Thanks for any help. Don
It was dying a death before covid and pulled in its horns so much that it was just doing a little local work for Utrecht.
What it is doing now I don't know but I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

I agree with Nigel - I heard about it back in 2018 when I went to the Netherlands but even then, it was inconsistently available. I never used it and never missed it.

It won't be coming back as there is already a trial of a system going on that would use contactless debit & credit cards, called OVpay.
This was supposed to be rolled out more widely from the summer but no date or details yet.
