TripKey problems - "sold out" post on its Facebook page

I've been hearing about a lot of problems finding the TripKey passes available - both here and on Trip Advisor. I just checked their Facebook page and they have announced that the passes are sold out as of 4/14/18. https://www.facebook.com/tripkeycard/posts/2000407220213919

They said that they would have them in by the following Monday but it doesn't look like that is happening. I think I'm going to forego TK for my mid-May trip and look at buying a regional pass and individual tickets for areas outside the region.

Here is TripKey's response to my FB request for a status update:

TripKey Dear Mardee, I understand your reaction and I am sorry not to be able to promise you an immediate solution. I’m afraid there issues with the cards availability will not be solved yet at the time of your visit. The demand has exceeded our expectations and our stock. The reason why we are not able to solve the issue at this moment, is that we are in the middle of a migration to a new improved system, a new reservation portal. My advice is to register (it’s free!) and check upon arrival if there are TripKey cards available. However, you might want to look into alternatives, in case there are no more TripKey cards available at the time of your arrival. We are monitoring our pickup locations and as soon as cards are returned we send them to the locations that need them most. I wish you a safe trip to the Netherlands. Enjoy your visit!

Not that strongly, Nigel! I'm not sure why it got that huge. Probably the formatting from FB did it. I'll see if I can change it.

Wow-we must’ve just lucked out. I ordered it online on 4/18 which was a week before our arrival. I’ll admit that I had my fingers crossed since then! We arrived on Tuesday morning and they had it at the Hertz counter at the airport. An Amsterdam miracle I guess! It has worked like a charm so I truly hope they work out their many issues.

I'm going to sign up for it, since it's free and see what happens (but not hold my breath). :)

Yeah you don’t have anything to lose. Just have a backup plan! Good luck and great trip!

Well, looks like I can't do that - their website says that registration is shut down until June 4th.
