Anne Frank Museum & best home base in the Netherlands for 3-4 days

I will be visiting Amsterdam April 3-6 (f-sun) with my sister and our two 18 year old daughters. We would like to visit the Anne Frank Museum. Tickets are sold out on the official website as they become available 6 weeks in advance. I am a week late buying tickets.
Does anyone know how I can get four tickets for the Anne Frank Museum if they are sold out on the website?

Also, we are considering Leiden or Utrecht for a Netherlands home base to stay for 3-4 days. We will spend one to 1 1/2 day(s) in Amsterdam and 2-3 days outside of Amsterdam. We would like to take a riverboat to Kinderdijk to see the windmills. We are interested in Delft, Zaanse Schans, Rotterdam and The Hague.

I would love any input for those who have been to these paces. We are two 40 year old moms on a senior trip with our daughters!

EDIT - made correction.
The Anne Frank House usually posts available tickets every Tuesday morning. You need to go online in the middle of the night, which is 10am Amsterdam time, exactly when they open. They do not sell to third party brokers, so beware. Good luck!
How much time do you have in total, on the ground? I'm confused here.
Don't forget that Keukenhof is open during your visits, with 7million flowering bulbs, many of them tulips. This garden is only open about seven weeks a year, in the spring. Their website includes all pertinent info,
Because it's tulip season, lodging will be expensive and in short supply. You are late to be booking, so availability in your price range may dictate where to base yourselves. Leiden is a great place to stay, as is Haarlem, if you find Amsterdam too expensive. And the NL increased lodging taxes in 2026.
Please supply the additional info, and this site can be more helpful.
You're in for a treat, and a memorable adventure!

You plan to be here during the Easter weekend. This means huge crowds and sky high hotel prices, not just in Amsterdam but also in Utrecht and Leiden Given that your stay is only a month away, your need to book a place to stay asap.
If you want help with that, you need to give us some idea of a budget in €’s or $’s.

They're sold out through April 12. I just checked their official website. I have never read of being able to find 3rd party tickets.

The link provided by pbscd has the right info for finding tickets if you missed your window. TL:DR version is keep checking every Tuesday until your trip, you might get lucky.

I have never read of being able to find 3rd party tickets.

To this point, there are no third party tickets allowed, but some companies misleadingly advertise that they take you to the house. Usually it's a walking tour that does look at the outside but doesn't go in. This is why a person should only buy tickets directly from the official museum website (and double check the URL to be absolutely sure)

Very sorry. Unfortunately you just missed the window for ticket sales during your planned stay. When I was there in December on site ticket purchases were not available either.

You've missed the window for the tickets as they go on sale Tuesday @ 10am (Amsterdam time) for six weeks out. However, I would check this Tuesday/Amsterdam time, to see if they open up any other time slots for a week out. They were doing that a couple of years ago when we went in April 2024. (I know this Tuesday won't open up a slot for when you are there, but just see if they are doing something like that. If so, you can try for a week out from your arrival. ( Currently, there are tickets available for days this week, later in the evening scroll all the way down for the later times) So keep checking the website...also make sure you are on the official website.

And tickets are sold museum + Introduction or museum only. Sometimes there are museum only tickets available so check out both options to see what might be available.

No third party tickets allowed.
