Anne Frank tickets appeal

I missed getting tickets to the Anne Frank museum next month. If anyone has advice for me, I’ll be in Amsterdam 4/22-24/2024. Please contact me. Thanks.

The Anne Frank house strictly bans any resale of their tickets. So any 3rd party offering tours+tickets to the Anne Frank house is violating the rules of the Anne Frank house.
There is however a slim chance that you may be able to get tickets on the official website of the Anne Frank house. Every Tuesday at 10 am local Amsterdam time, tickets are released for the week starting 6 weeks from then. However in recent weeks they also released additional tickets for the next week.
So if I were you, I would make sure to be ready on Tuesday April 16 at 10 AM local Amsterdam time to see if tickets become available for the next week.

Thanks, I will try that. I’ve been checking each week on Tuesday, and your advice is spot on. I hope there will be tickets available when I’m in Amsterdam.

Please be wary of buying tickets from companies like 360. I was refused entry the other day with tickets purchased from them.

The tickets for the Anne Frank House were sold out on the house website for when I wanted to go inside. I saw that both Trip Advisor and Get Your Guide had tickets for sale via 360 and several other companies.. There were tickets for most days by themselves or with a tour. They were much more expensive than the house charge but as this was the only option to get tickets I figured it was worth it.
Everything was ok until I got to the house. I arrived super early as I know they are strict on times. They looked at the name on the ticket and asked for my name and ID and of course they didn't match.
They refused to let me into the house and said they had hundreds of similar tickets over the last week or so that they have rejected and turned away.
They said if your ticket doesn't match your name then you aren't getting in. Companies are bulk buying tickets for resale- which I was told is not allowed. Also many of these tickets aren't even real, they are duplicates or fakes.

So now I am several hundred pounds out of pocket and never even stepped foot in the house. I didn't event get through the first door and the people scanning the tickets were very strict and cross sounding. It was rather embarrassing to be turned away like that in front of a big crowd of people.
Lesson learned the hard way. Do not buy Anne Frank tickets from websites other than the actual house.

Oh dear, thanks for sharing your experience. I’m very sorry you had to learn the hard and costly way, but the Anne Frank house is indeed very strict with regards to 3rd parties reselling their tickets. They clearly state that they don’t allow it, so they had every right to deny you access, but I totally understand you felt ashamed and embarrassed.
By posting this here, you have hopefully kept others from making the same costly mistake.
So let me repeat; the only place to buy tickets to the Anne Frank house, is the official website of the Anne Frank house organization;
https://www.annefrank.org/en/

Every other website or company that sells tickets to the Anne Frank house, including the one mentioned by Donna in this thread, is breaking the rules.

Btw; I hope you’re not letting this company get away with this? Have you filed a complaint with them?

I hope you also complain to the third party sites like Get Your Guide and Tripadvisor that continue to work with and promote these fraudulent ticket sellers.

Hello Dutch Traveler I find myself with the same problem as the other poster- I miscalculated and missed the date for trying to get Anne Frank tickets for June 26- it was last week and I had it marked as this week on my calendar. Do you know if they are sometimes still releasing some tickets one week before? If that is a possibility to try, would I try at 10 am Amsterdam time on June 17 or 24? Or both? Thank you in advance for any advice!

Check every Tuesday at 10 am Amsterdam time until your trip. This worked for me. I was very grateful for this advice. The Dutch Resistance Museum is also worth a visit.

June 17 and 24 are Mondays, but tickets are only released on Tuesdays.
As I write this, it’s Tuesday May 21, 10:10 local time in Amsterdam. The Anne Frank house just released tickets for the week that starts on Monday July 1, so 6 weeks away from now.
In addition to that, they also released extra tickets for the previously sold out week that starts on Monday May 27.
So if you want tickets for June 26. You should make sure to be ready on Tuesday June 18 at 10 am local time in Amsterdam. Check and verify the time difference with your location!!!

Hello Guys,

Thank you and grateful to have this forum and advice.
I'm in Amsterdam from Monday 29th July to Sunday 4th August but I did not plan the 6 weeks before my arrival to get the tickets.

Do you think it is possible via Tuesday 10am to have tickets during the time I'll be there?

Do you have other advice to give to me please?
I had to organize it and did not and my girlfriend is so mad against me...

When I reserved tickets at 3am CT Tuesday morning when they first became available six weeks in advance, I remember seeing tickets available for one week from the current date. My advice would be to log on Tuesday before your arrival date (July 23) and see what comes available.

Since this topic may recur and be searched:

I had the same experience as others. Woke up at 4am EST to get tickets 6 weeks in advance (success!) and also noted a small amount of one week out tickets being released too.

IOW, get up early for that one week ahead Tuesday and see what is available.

I would check for tickets every Tuesday morning until your time in Amsterdam not just the week before. I had good luck doing that.
