Ann Frank House

I went to the annfrank.org website to book a reservation to the house. I clicked on the appropriate sigh (I think) and book two tickets for about 68 Euro each.

THEN I went back to Rick's book and reread the information about advanced tickets. There is mention of the $60 museum card which obviously saves a ton, especially since it includes so many sights. It says there that I just need to make an online reservation. This is where I get confused.

It turns out that even though I clicked on annfrank.org, I somehow have a reservation with Headout, which I have used many places.

So, my question is, do I cancel the Headout reservation and get the Museumkaart instead. Help!

Thanks

You got caught up in a misspelling. Annefrank.org is the official site.

The official website mentions there will be no access to the museum when purchasing from another site...

Please note that there are fraudulent websites with URLs similar to the one used by the Anne Frank House. These sites are aimed at credit card fraud or the sale of invalid tickets. Tickets for the Anne Frank House can only be purchased through this website.
Commercial parties offering Anne Frank House tours do not provide access to the Anne Frank House.

It is probably not actually through Headout. I had a similar situation and ended up disputing the charge and was issued a new card number.

The actual website has a ticket purchase page - you can buy tickets or make the 1 Euro reservation.

Please, please once you get to the official website, please be aware of when the tickets go on sale for your desired time. (It's about six weeks out on Tuesdays at 10am Amsterdam time but a bit nuanced, so practice ahead of time.) Be sure and set your alarm when they go on sale at 10am Amsterdam time, they sell out quickly. Don't think you'll just take care of it when you wake up in the morning.
That's the only way you are getting admission.

I will cancel what I did

Good Luck, you may have to try for a charge back on credit card, don’t delay.

And just note that the Museumkaart is primarily a tool for local residents. Visitors can get a temporary card and use it for only 5 entrances total - not unlimited. Check this discussion that includes helpful links to even more prior discussions. https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/netherlands/museumkaart-9980df46-0ffa-4e96-ba5e-2bc7c4a3eb51

Even with the card you have to make a reservation at Anne Frank house. And you have to do that within the ticketing window for your visits. There are MANY posts on this topic in the forum how to get the timing correct - there are two windows to get tickets, one about six weeks ahead and a few just a week out.

I’m sorry to say but I don’t think you fully understand what happened here. You didn’t buy tickets from a legitimate reseller, you gave your money and credit card details to scammers. The “tickets” you received are most likely fake.
You need to contact your credit card company immediately and tell them that scammers now have your information.

Tickets to the Anne Frank house cost €16 per person. Or €23 if you include an introductory talk.
The only place to buy your tickets is the official website of the Anne Frank house; https://www.annefrank.org/en/museum/tickets/

I agree it is confusing. You have to purchase tix online with a specific time made 6 weeks in advance. I purchased admission tix and the Museumkaart pass in one order. Pick up the MK passes when visiting Anne Frank to use at several other museums. Good luck
