I will be traveling from Zurich via Bernina Route the day after arriving in Europe after an overnight overseas flight.
Ultimately, I am heading to Vicenza or Padua. I could fit it all in after arriving in Tirano, but I think I would be pushing my luck with jet lag and fatigue. Train runs from Tirano to Milan via Bellano, Varenna, or Lecco. So I can overnight in Milan, or one of 3 towns on Lake Como..... It would just be an overnight stop, but I suddenly thought that it might be my only visit to Como area and it might be prettier than a hotel in Milan near a train station. Any recommendations?
This would be in April (2020).

Yes, but asked on the Italy forum, for the Italy section of travel only - as some will know the Lake towns and may not know the train route. I have also edited the title to reduce similarity to Switzerland post.
