best places to eat that you have experienced in Venice. Thanks!
Here’s a great place to start https://search.ricksteves.com/?button=&date_range=6m&filter=Travel+Forum&query=Venice+restaurants the many queries and answers on this Forum in the past t months about eating in Venice. Buon appetito!
They're a bit touristy, but the location and ambience can't be beat. There is a string of restaurants just to the north of Rialto Bridge, on Campo San Giacomo., where you eat fish right on the Grand Canal. Caffe Vergnano, El Pesador, Naranzaria, and Osteria al Ciccheteria. I'm afraid I don't remember which one we ate at, but they all seemed about the same.
We have dined at Ai Mercanti half a dozen times. Modern Italian, no “ red sauce”. Excellent.
I personally am very happy to have dined in sight of the Rialto Bridge. Along with staying in Marriott's island hotel, it's one of the two positive memories I have of visiting Venice. Oh, and the vaporetto rides in the lagoon. So I guess there were three positive experiences.
