Venice Vegetarian pasta as a main course

Our first dinner in Venice is Wednesday. Not really happy with the concierge suggestions. I booked two dinners at Bistrot De Venice. Reviews were good and the menu looked very appealing. Staying at The St Regis. We will be tired from flying Tuesday night, not business class. Looking for really good quality; would be a plus if the prices are sensible vs. tourist trap crazy. Not willing to pay for the Michelin star restaurants and, most probably, they are booked. Appreciate the help. Grazie.

We've always enjoyed Osteria La Zucca in Santa Croce --- I'm not really a vegetarian except that I rarely eat meat and never seafood, so we look for vegetarian-friendly restaurants: https://www.lazucca.it/#menu

A vegetarian pasta (maybe with cheese since you're apparently not vegan) paired with a side order of grilled vegetables would make a nice meal. The grilled veggies--widely available--can vary depending on the season and the restaurant. At various times I've seen onion, peppers (not hot), tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini and yellow squash--and probably more I'm not remembering. Once or twice in Rome, when presented with a slim menu bereft of vegetable side dishes, I asked if the kitchen had something available and was able to get sauteed spinach. (I'm not a vegetarian, but I work hard to get enough veggies into my diet on my long trips.)
