Vegan in Venice

We stumbled into La Tecia Vegana without reservations, exhausted and famished, after a very long and busy day sightseeing. As it is, unbeknownst to us, customary to make reservations, we were very fortunate that they had a table left unoccupied. The salad greens were delightfully delicate and fresh, the soup creamy and soothing, our respective entrees very comforting, the chocolate torte a fitting end to a lovely meal. It was so nice to be able to choose from an entire menu without having to screen it for undesirable ingredients. The woman we assume was the owner proudly told us that hers was the only fully vegan restaurant in all of Venice. Later in our visit we walked past there between service, the sign on the door indicated that the evening was fully booked. Good for them, and good for us that they had one empty table that evening.
