Venice transfer

Does anyone know of a transfer car service from Venice to Marina di Ravenna? It’s for 2 people with 2 checked bags in early June of next year.

Doogie, Venice to Ravenna is a long way; car service promises to be very expensive. Just on a topline search, I'm seeing rates for a private transfer of roughly $500 - $700 to even higher for two.

I'm guessing you are leaving Ravenna on a cruise? Does your ship's line provide any sort of shuttle from, say, Venice's airport to Ravenna? It's likely to be considerably less expensive...or maybe the prices don't bother you?

Are you on a cruise from Ravenna? Sounds like it. Venice has banned cruise ships as a protective measure for it’s fragile environment, a much needed decision. The ship probably offers transfers there. Isn’t there a train as an option?

I'd take an high speed train to Bologna and meet there my driver. To save both time and money. Check train schedules using a day of travel before December 11 on trenitalia.com or italotreno.it

Doogie, I did some looking back to your previous posts, and wondering if this is still your plan?

"We are planning a cruise out of Venice (Porto Corsini in Ravenna) and would like to spend some time in Venice before the cruise. What is a good amount of time to spend in Venice to see the city? I was planning on arriving on a Monday and leaving for Ravenna on Saturday to see Ravenna for a day or so when our cruise leaves on a Monday.
We plan on taking the train to Ravenna from Venice. Is it an easy transfer at Ferrera?"

Or are you no longer planning on spending sightseeing time in Ravenna? If not going directly from airport to ship, then your ship's transfer service won't be an option.

Sooo, I'd consider Dario's advice to transfer by train to Bologna.

Thank you all. I had thought about the idea of using a car service for a bit, we are going to Marina di Ravenna instead of just staying in Ravenna now. I found, or thought I found a decent car service for about 200 EUR. Turns out, that was the price years ago and its much higher now. So, its the train to Ravenna, and a cab to the hotel in the Marina.

Thank you all for the help with Ferrara too.

Any reason you're staying at Marina di Ravenna instead of central Ravenna, where the city's best sightseeing is?

Central Ravenna is very attractive, even aside from all the mosaic sites.

We are staying in Marina di Ravenna because one of the days were there, we are taking a cooking class in town. We will be able to walk to the ship the morning of departure or take a taxi to the ferry that will take across the river. We are also lovers of the beach, and are looking forward to relaxing on the beach in between our Venice time and cruise time.
