Venice - Is Hotel Ala a good choice?

I stayed at that hotel during my first stay in Venice. It is a good hotel in an excellent location. It was only about 5 minutes walk to St Marco's Piazza, and to me location is the most important thing.

It’s a nice hotel. But don’t get a room on the main piazza as it can be noisy at night. Ask for a quiet room.

I loved Hotel Ala. Great people, great location. We even took a water taxi from the hotel to the train station, just because.

When you get off the water taxi at Giglio, do you have to walk through the buildings to get to the hotel?

It’s a narrow alley straight from the dock goes thru those 2 buildings
Hotel is on left once you are in the campo
No stairs or bridges
