Venice Gondola Rides

Hi, I searched the forum about Gondola rides in Venice and found some info from about 5 year ago so I thought I would repost to see if there is any updates to the info. We plan to take a ride at dusk for our family of 6 and wondered if anyone had any important tips? Also, wondered roughly how many euros.

Thanks!

We (a group of 4) took a daytime gondola ride last September and it was 80 euros. I’m not sure if you will need one or two gondolas- depending on the size of the people in your group. ; )
Enjoy! It was a magical experience!

kcapita15, There have been a lot of more recent discussions. Here's one less than a month ago: gondola in venice
Did you use the Search function (gray box at top of this Page (or in the menu if using a phone)? If so, you can narrow it down to just Forum discussions, and then just 6 months or newer. If you do that several recent ones pop up.

We also preferred to take the gondola at dusk when the lights along the Grand Canal were just coming on, and boat traffic was lighter. We went to the closest "stand" to our hotel while out and about that day, and made a reservation for our group for the evening.

As night approaches, prices go up. You could try some haggling if the price seems too high.

we used lucky luca, the singing gondelier. he was great. took an afternoon ride, met in the canareggio area of the jewish ghetto, cost was 80E for 4 of us. did the back and side canals, cross over grand canal which is very busy with many "boats"

A gondola costs 80 euro for a daytime ride of 30 minutes, and 100 euro for an evening ride. The price is fixed and haggling is ill advised.
A gondola can take five passengers.
