Uffizi on Saturday, April 5

Hey, knowledgeable ones--

We want to do the Uffizi on the above date, but don't want to wait in a long line. We could:

1) book with City Wonders Tours, a 90-minute small group guided tour for $75/pp.

2) book a Skip-The-Line ticket with Get Your Guide for around $40/pp. The website says you have a different entrance, and also you do not pay anything upfront, and can cancel up to 24 hours before. That's a huge plus if true.

3) book with the Uffizi itself at around $35/pp. You get a 15-minute window of entrance, but do not know if you have to wait in a line first. Also because I didn't want to complete the transaction, I don't know if I'd have to pay upfront or if there is any refundability or what the cancellation policies are.

Has anybody experienced any of this, especially my second choice, the Get Your Guide Skip-the-Line tickets? Is it legit? I've been to the Uffizi once, about 15 years ago, and waited in a long line for awhile before I realized that we didn't have to.

Thanks in advance. I may have some in my group of 5 that might beg off from this once we get to Florence, as they aren't as ga-ga over art as I am. I know what this museum is, and wouldn't miss it for the world!

Buy your tickets with timed entry from the official site
You will only have to go thru security line

https://www.uffizi.it/en/the-uffizi

There is no such think as “ skip the line”
By purchasing from official site you have a timed entry

Don’t purchase from third party reseller like Get Your Guide-not necessary

More details on entry in this recent thread

Oh sorry yes you will pay upfront
If you want to visit that is just what you’ll have to do

Hi Jay,
I know you've said you want to visit on a Saturday, so forgive me if this isn't do-able for you, but if you are in Florence on a Tuesday, I highly recommend doing a night time visit (the museum stays open late on Tuesday nights.) We did this in June and I couldn't believe how few people where there, and then my friend had the same experience when she went on a Tues night in Aug. (This was 2024.)

Ditto to what Christine said, Jay.

No need to purchase from a 3rd party (City Wonders or Get Your Guide). Skip-the-line is just fancy marketing language to make people think they need to purchase from 3rd-party sites for this benefit when they can accomplish the same with a timed-entry ticket - almost always for less - through official channels (B-ticket is the Uffizi's). NO one circumvents the security check queue, no matter what vendor they purchased from.

I don't know if I'd have to pay upfront or if there is any
refundability or what the cancellation policies are.

Yes, if you purchase through B-ticket you pay up front, and there's no refund so you need to be sure of who will be going with you. This from the "Rules of Service" page:
https://www.b-ticket.com/b-ticket/Uffizi/terms-conditions.html?_ga=2.98594458.566624547.1740049350-61505893.1740049350

"Once payment has been made, it is no longer possible to change or cancel a reservation."

Vendors do not have different magic 'skip the line' tickets from what you buy from the museum with timed ticket. With a timed ticket you go to the door with those who have reserved tickets and enter with your time slot. 'Skip the line' is a grift by middlemen. FWIW. pretty much everyone has timed tickets so alas everywhere you go will involve more lines than back in the day when many people just showed up without tickets and those with were whisked right in without queuing.
