Hello! I need to change the date, by one day, of a ticket from Florence to Assisi. I am technology challenged but the site will not accept my info. I am not even able to sign in for an online chat! I would prefer to make this arrangement before I travel in one month. I believe the ticket has no restrictions, it is for an adult, Ordinaria-2nd Class.
Thank you for your thoughts!
Did you see Dario's response to the same question you posted in this thread?

The confusion is that Claudia hijacked a somewhat similar question posted by uifsaxal12 in April. Principle reason not to hijacked someone else's question. Adds levels of confusion especially with really old postings.
I am assuming you have purchased a Regionale train ticket on-line. (Generally a big no, no). When purchasing on line you have to specify a stating date and time and then the ticket is valid for only four hours from the time you requested on that date. That is what we mean when we say the tickets comes "pre-validated." You have a valid ticket for any Regionale train on that date and time. I have no idea if that ticket can be exchange or not. However, when you get to Florence take the ticket to a ticket window and see if they will exchange for an earlier ticket. They may well say no ----- that is all you can do. If they say no, you buy a new ticket. Regionale train tickets are dirt cheap so you are not out much money and lesson learned.
For other readers and train riders in Italy this is the classic reason for the recommendation, frequently posted here, that you do not purchase Regionale train tickets on-line. There is no advantage, no cost savings, nothing to gain by purchasing in advance.
It is a 15.80 EUR ticket, so its not going to ruin your vacation if you have to buy a new ticket. To travel is to make occasional mistakes, and when they are minor, just shrug your shoulders and move forward.
Mea culpa and thanks!

What's gained is saving time at a ticket machine or window. Last time I did a station purchase [Rapallo] I stood behind one person at the machine, DW behind fifteen at the window. She got them first.
