I wonder if anyone on the forum has run into this problem before and might have a solution:
I just booked some train tickets for late October in my account on the Trenitalia app. For some reason, the tickets don't show up under "Tickets" under the "My Journeys" tab. I am able to retrieve them by filling in my PNR and email address but when they come up, a message pops up saying "Unable to save in My Journeys." When I search up the issue on Google, I see responses that say this is due to purchasing the tickets through a 3rd party seller, but this isn't the case with me. It's not a super big deal, as I received an email from Trenitalia with PDFs of the tickets (and I printed them off) and I was also able to add them to my Apple Wallet, but I am a bit flummoxed as to why they can't be saved on the app. It's a bit of a pain because the ticket for Regionale portion of the journey (I know there is no need to book a regional train in advance but it was the first part of a journey that includes a Frecciarossa train) can't be added to Apple Wallet so the only way to see it digitally is to "retrieve" it on the app every time.
Again, not a big problem, as I can show the paper version of the ticket to the conductor, but it does seem strange not to be able to save it in the app it was purchased in, so I thought someone on the forum might be able to enlighten me as to why! I almost always use Trainline to book train tickets in Europe as it is so easy to use, but for this journey, the trains I wanted were showing up as "not available for sale" so I went directly to Trenitalia where I was pretty quickly reminded as to why I prefer Trainline!
Thanks very kindly in advance.
