Greetings, I would like to know how to go about traveling from Nice to Cinque Terra. Most economical method and timeframe. We unfortuantely have a limited amount of time, but have been told it is magical. Please provide tips as to where to go and what to see. Any and all tips welcome! Many thanks.
Sylvia,
It would help to know when your trip will be taking place?
The most economical method and timeframe will be travel by train. One of the quickest trips will be a departure from Nice Ville to Monterosso (the most northerly of the Cinque Terre towns) at 09:50, arriving at 15:03 (time 5H:13M, 2 changes at Ventimiglia and Genova Piazza Principe, reservations compulsory on the last two legs).
In terms of "where to go and what to see", the towns themselves are the attraction. Many people try to hike at least one of the four Sentiero Azzurro trails. I would highly recommend having a look at the Italy 2015 guidebook, which has a great description of that area. You may also enjoy watching this recent video on the Cinque Terre.
Ken,
They're going in early May.

Kent,
Thanks for the clarification on that.
Sylvia,
If you're planning to stay in the Cinque Terre, it would be a really good idea to get a hotel booking SOON.
