We need help navigating transportation for eight people, with a lot of luggage. Starting from the Naples Airport to the ferry heading to Procida, in the middle of June 2025. Next, after our first leg of the journey we will need transportation from Naples, to the train that goes to Florence. Then we will need transportation from the Florence train station to our villa inside of Florence. Lastly, we will need transportation from our villa inside Florence to the Florence airport. Again, it will be eight people with a lot of luggage. We could really use some advise and information on who to contact, how to navigate, or someone that could help us. Thank you so much for your help. Elaine
Have you considered using a travel agent to make plans to take care of your large group and what sounds like a complicated trip and the groups’ excessive amount of luggage? It is late to be making these plans so I highly encourage you to hire a travel agent specializing in group travel. This trip is coming up fast! First, tell everyone to bring a 22” piece of luggage and a small carry on. No more than that.
Rick Steves has said you can't travel Happy, Heavy and Cheap. Pick two. So I'll bite the bullet and ask if it is possible to not have a lot of luggage? I personally travel with one carry-on, and in June that should be easier as you won't be needing heavier warmer clothes. Ask the group, it would be easier.
If not then you will need a driver( s) or taxi (s) to the ferry to Procida. Hopefully you can transport your luggage on and off the ferry. Perhaps your hotel on Procida can arrange drivers to meet you at the ferry? And then you will need to start the process again to leave. It might be easier to arrange a driver from Naples to your villa instead of the trains, as you will have to navigate your luggage yourself on the train.
Welcome to the forum!
Is there a reason there will be a lot of luggage? wedding or?
Who are these travelers- adults, seniors, kids?
How long is this trip? No matter if it's 10 days or 3 weeks you all need to travel light. One carry on size or one suitcase each if you must go big. one personal item (knapsack, trolley bag whatever).
Plan to do laundry. Everything will be so much smoother and easier if you travel light.
Is everybody able to manage their own bags? Will need to for your train rides.

From NAP you could hire a driver to port- or take 2-3 taxis from airport to port.
You will need a large 9 person van (hopefully that fits luggage as well- but not if you've got too much!)
Procida port to/from lodging - check with your lodging first. Otherwise I assume there are taxis.
We used this company for transfers in the region- see what they can offer.

Once in Florence at train station- you can hire another driver (large van!) or take a few taxis from station. (sorry I have no recommendation)
Where exactly is your "villa inside of Florence"
Ask your host for recommendations.
Each person gets one 22” carryon and one personal item (back pack or tote bag). No the ladies do not get a third item (“purse”). They can put a small cross body bag inside the personal item. Each person must be able to manage their own luggage without relying on help from anyone else. If they can’t then they must take less stuff.
Thank you for all the replies with help! I will check with the villa that we will be staying. Also, checking with a travel agent is a good idea also. We are aware of packing light but thank you for your recommendations. I wish we could pack lighter but we will be sailing for over a week and have needed equipment and supplies. Our main need is help with transportation. I really wanted to get recommendation on using a service or company of some kind. Hopefully we hire a van so that we can stay together while getting from one place to another. Thank you again for your help.
The good news is that the airport in Naples is very close to the city so a cab to the ferry station is a completely reasonable option and the railway station is even closer coming back. It sounds like you would need at least 2 cabs to get to and from the train station to the ferry and back again or large van. This is probably less than a 15 minutes drive without traffic.
I can understand the desire to keep everyone together and prearrange a ride. There are many services - this is an example but not a recommendation: https://www.jayride.com/airport-transfer/italy/naples-airport-nap
They even offer "cruise transfer" as a class of things they offer.
Coming back the Napoli Centrale train station is even closer to the dock and is about 5 minutes away. Again you can arrange a transfer if you want to pay for it or take a couple of cabs. I would be more concerned about herding everyone through the very busy and sometimes chaotic Napoli train station to actually get to the train and get to Florence. I would study up on the layout of the train station and know where you're going rather than look lost and confused with so much luggage around you.
Depending on how far the villa is from Florence you have the same issue. If it is outside the usual taxi distance from town you should pre-arrange a point to point transfer whether in one vehicle or two. If it's close to town you can pre-arrange or take a couple of taxis.
There are many services - this is an example but not a recommendation: https://www.tours-italy.com/florence-tours/transfers-and-ground-services
At all airports and train stations there is a taxi stand outside so you can simply join the line and wait for the next cab if you don't pre-arrange something.
Both the state run Trenitalia and the privately run .Italo operate fast trains between Napoli Centrale and Firenze SMN and very regular basis and the trip is about 3 hours. Some trains require a change in Rome but with a large party I would take care not to book one of those and make sure it is direct even if it means leaving 20 or 30 minutes later. Fast trains have assigned seating and offer multiple classes but you will need to manage your luggage yourselves.
Both companies have handy apps but booking that many tickets on the phone would probably be a real chore.
Hope that helps,
