Staying in Murano?

My spouse and I have an Airbnb booked in Venice, but can get a similarly priced place on Murano (NH Collection Venezia Murano Villa). We're only going to be there for 2 nights, 3 days.

We are going to do Row Venice on one day, and then on another do both Saint Mark's Basillica and Doges Pallace the next day.

Would it be better to just stay in Venice for a short trip? We do not mind taking a boat at all. We would take one early in the morning to spend the days in Venice, which might be answering my question if we'll spend most of our exploring time there. But I see the appeal of staying in Murano in the evening.

One major thing to consider is the morning we leave to the airport our flight is at 6:25am. It looks like there is a water taxi we can take directly from Murano to the airport, which is a plus. I'm assuming we could do the same from Venice.

Please be careful in the terminology. A water taxi is a a private transfer which can be expensive, but is available on your own schedule. You may be referring to the Alilaguna water bus,, which picks up passengers at 4:38 am at Murano and arrives at the airport at 5:09.

If this is your first time in Venice, I recommend staying in Venice, especially if you are only there for 2 nights, 1 full day.

It's really nice on a European trip to return to the hotel midday and zone out/nap/ rest your feet for awhile. For this reason I'd recommend staying in Venice. Also, Murano is really small, and I'm sure pretty dead in the evenings. Venice is vibrant at night, and you can ride the vaporetto down the Grand Canal and see the interiors of some of the beautiful homes lit up at night.
A 6:30 am flight out of Venice is not ideal. I would not trust the Alilaguna, I would take a private water taxi to the Venice airport.
How does two nights equal three days?
You will have a wonderful time in this beautiful city. Safe travels!

As much as we love Murano, for a trip this short the best bet is to stay in Venice itself. A water taxi will be very expensive. Much cheaper to take a local vaporetto to Piazzale Roma and then a regular bus to the airport -- if they will be running early enough to work with the time you have to be at the airport. Perhaps someone else can offer a time line for that. Otherwise, the expensive water taxi might be needed.

OP - could you provide an update on your trip. I have booked the same hotel you referenced with a two night stay. The outbound flight to London I am considering is for 8am but temporarily booked the 12pm one, though it is 3x - 4x more expensive. I am traveling with a family of four.

Thanks!
