We are planning to go to Sicily with our friends in the Fall of 2020. We would like to do a private tour, due to the fact that one of the traveller's has a disability. We are concerned that we do not want to delay others, so that is why we do not want to go with a group. Does anyone have any recommendations for tour guides or programs for Sicily that one can do with a group of 4 only? Thanks!

I was in Sicily recently for two weeks with my sister, and we arranged a private guide for one day, and a private transport (with several stops) another day. Private guides, with transportation, generally will run around 300-350 euros/day. Could you give a little more information about what you are asking, like are you hoping for a guide to take four people in a van for a week, or for 2-3 days, or just for a few days in, say, Palermo and Siracusa with possible day trips from those cities?

Thanks for your prompt response yes we are looking for a van tour with a guide to take us to various sites in Sicily. Starting in Palermo ending in Catania. I appreciate the information about daily costs.

Roberto Sapone is the driver with whom Sister and I arranged transportation for a day that began in Agrigento, with stops at Villa Romana, Piazza Armerina, & Caltagirone, then a drop off at our hotel in Siracusa/Ortigia. Although I don't believe that Roberto is a licensed Italian tour guide (his website says he is a "licensed taxi driver and tour escort"), he is an ebulliant, joyful, wise and fun guy who knows Sicily - it's history, culture, geography and more - and is also a very safe and courteous driver. His van was spacious and comfortable. Roberto is available for one-day transfers and also multi-day trips around the island.
