Hello, my family of five will be visiting Rome in May. We will have five pieces of luggage. I'm looking for suggestions on transportation from the airport to our Air-b-n-b near the Pantheon. Should I arrange private transportation, take the train, take 2 cabs (I'm assuming 5 people/luggage will not fit into one cab?) Thanks for your help.
Definitely take a taxi van (they have vehicles large enough for all of you) or arrange a private driver.
This recent post (for family of 6) might be helpful/reassuring :O)
Perfect! Thanks for your help.
You can take the local train to Trastevere station and then take the tram to only a few blocks from the Parthenon. It is very reasonable. We enjoy arriving into the historic district this way, even after a long flight.
With a party of five you may want to consider a private shuttle for the convenience. It will probably not cost very much more than a taxi. This is the link to a service we've used and will do so again. We send an email detailing our needs and get an answer within 24 hours. https://www.romecabs.com/ Oh, and it is a car service and not a cab company despite the name.
Thanks all for the advice.
