I will be in Rome for one night in May 2022. Staying at hotel near airport and would like to hire a car service for 6 - 8 hours to drive us around Rome with the flexibility of stopping to do some walking and to eat. There will be six of us. Any suggestions on a private car service that can provide this?

if you contact the guides that Rick recommends for Rome, they are likely to know someone with a car (or it will be them). Be sure to mention there are 6 of you, that will require a minivan or van.

No personal experience, but they get good comments from those who have used them for airport transfers.
Whether they have or can tailor something to fit your needs/desires will likely need your contact with them to ascertain.
