Will be in Venice just one night, and looking for a restaurant recommendation with outdoor dining. Side canals, streets, or even the Grand Canal work. Staying near the Rialto Bridge, so walking distance would be great, though vaporetto works too.
Also, let me know if we'd need reservations - will be there this Thursday :)

When we were there last year, the best meal we ate was at Nevodi. It's a fair way from the Rialto though, but an easy vaporetto trip (nearest stop probably Arsenale) You will need to book as it gets busy.
an oft repeated maxim for Venice is view, food quality, price - pick any one.
I like Restaurante Gianni literally seated above the water on the Fondamenta de Le Zattere and several others within the Dorsoduro neighborhood. I usually follow my nose and request a reservation for the next day.

Nice location on a small canal, well away from touristy San Marco streets.. It is probably a 10-minute walk from Rialto Bridge, on the San Polo side.
