Recommendations for Amalfi Coast driver or tour company

Looking for any recommendations (driver or company) that is based maybe in Positano/Amalfi Town area generally that we could use to do a full day tour of Ravello and nearby area vineyards? We will be based already (on various days) in Sorrento, Positano, and Amalfi town already, so I think we will be able to dive deep already in those towns. But was thinking maybe hiring a driver (or tour company) for the day, to pick us up from Positano, have a full day tour seeing things like Ravello and areas up on the mountainside and maybe into the Amalfi interior a bit (like winery, sights generally outside the major towns, etc) would be a good way to see things we can't walk to otherwise, and then end of day drop us off in amalfi town area (to be pretty efficient on transfers). Just seeing if anyone had anyone (or any specific company) to recommend specifically that might do this. Thanks.

We used Aldo LImos for our transfers down here. We did a ride from the Naples train station to Positano and then back to the airport a few days later. Safe driver, good conversation. https://www.aldolimos.com/

We used https://www.sorrentosilverstar.com/sorrento-silver-star.html and were quite happy.
When I get back to Amalfi in the future I'd use them again.
We were able 'design' our day (with suggestions from the driver) since we were starting in Atrani and obviously didn't need to be driven to Amalfi...we did Ravello, around the 'back way' to Sorrento, then to Positano.

We were very happy with our day trip from winetouramalficoast.com. Daniele Di Palma is the owner/operator and provided us with a very memorable day. He picked us up from our hotel in Positano, drove us to Amalfi to explore the town on our own then on to Ravello. After exploring Ravello we had a wonderful private lunch with a personal chef and finished off the day at a winery. It was pricey, but it was one of the most relaxing days. Daniele was fantastic and a genuinely nice person.

Two years ago, we had good luck with a similar itinerary using this driver:

Marco Coppola, who works with a company called Pompei Tour drivers. His phone number is

I have used Joe banana limos multiple times. I can highly recommend
I’m actually debating whether to go in July on one of the covid tested flights? I booked but cancelled. I’m going to watch as it is a very fluid situation🤷‍♀️

We are americans and we go to amalfi fairly frequently, as we absolutely love it. A tour company like what you are proposing will be very expensive. You have to keep in mind that the coast road can be very congested, and to me, has gotten much worse recently. The main issue seems to be the many tour coaches that insist on ferrying people through Amalfi and Positano. That means you may be sitting in traffic a lot.

The Sita bus system is an excellent way to get around and it runs up the side roads, to Ravello and the interior as well. It stops in front of most hotels that are on the main road. or you can rent a car, which is what we do. Most hotels have limited parking which you can reserve in advance. As long as you have a small car like a Fiat 500, you will be just fine on the road as long as you stay well in your lane in curves. I actually enjoy driving in the Costiere Amalfi, but that's just me! Positano and Amalfi both have decent public parking.

As for what there is to see and do, the focus in Amalfi is really on the towns, the gorgeous views, and the beautiful blue sea. Amalfi and Positano are atmospheric, and the little fishing village of Furore is also worth an afternoon sipping limoncello. Going up to Ravello is well worth it because of the views from above. The interior, however, I would frankly skip. There are a handful of small hamlets, but they are basically sleepy villages. Your best bet would be to allocate six days if possible, spending 2 nights in Amalfi, 2 in Positano, and perhaps one or two around Conca Dei Marini. The Hotel Belvedere there is charming and is probably the most reasonbly priced hotel with direct sea access. After that, you are into places like the Santa Catarina or the Sirenuse in Positano. A great hotel in Positano, right on the beach, is the Hotel Pupetto Positano. You could almost overlook it but it is charming and within 3 minutes walk of the main beach front.

I’ve used Joe Banana Limos several times (8 actually). I believe they are based out if Sorrento. I used them in Rome and Florence too
The one tour they have takes you up on a hill in Positano to this amazing restaurant. I think it’s called La Tagglianno (sp?) it was certainly on my top meals list!

We used Amalfi Coast Destination and hired a private driver. He picked us up at our Hotel in Sorrento in a clean airconditioned Mercedes SUV that he maneuvered expertly through all traffic situations explaining to use that he previously drove a bus through the same region and was experienced. He also pointed out some sights as we drove and made restaurant reservations for us in Ravello at a hilltop restaurant that we still talk about. We just did the basic Amalfi, Positano and Ravello with him dropping us off in city center and giving us about 2 hours at each destination. Their website indicates that you can make your own itinerary.

Another strong recommendation for Joe Banana Limos. It's a funny name, I know - but they are excellent! We used them for a full day private cruise excursion in June 2019 (to Pompeii, Sorrento, and an olive oil farm) and could not have been happier. Their trip was just the right blend of sightseeing/activity and relaxation. As part of that day, they took us to a restaurant way off the beaten path where we were clearly the only tourists. It was a delicious, memorable meal. And for Pompeii, they pre-arranged a private tour guide of Pompeii who was waiting for us as we pulled up. She was an expert guide who greatly enhanced our visit, and it the extra cost was quite reasonable.

We're returning next week (on a Covid-tested flight out of New York) and have arranged another full day tour out of Sorrento, as well as transfers between Rome FCO and Sorrento with sightseeing along the way. They have been a pleasure to work with, and have been willing to customize our transfers to make the best use of our time, including making a specific stop in Naples to see a piece of art I've been dying to see. Reach out to them - I think you'll be very pleased!
