Ravello

If we wanted to stay in Ravello for one night. Is it possible to park car close to accommodations. We are seniors and walking with luggage could be a problem
If parking is an issue, what area could we stay in for a night that has parking and would give us easy access to Ravello? Maybe a train?
Thank you for ideas

Yes of course. There are several options. You will just need to search for a hotel that provides parking.

You could also get a private taxi from Naples or Salerno if you donโ€™t want to drive or bother with parking.

Taxi would be a good idea but will be renting a car for two weeks. Will be on a fairly tight budget

Where are you staying before/after Ravello? We took a bus from Amalfi town to Ravello for the day. That bus ride was harrowing, as is all car travel on the coast...just sayin'!

"tight budget"and "renting a car for two weeks" doesn't really go well together!
have you priced your car rental yet?
When is this trip?
Exactly how much luggage are you taking about?

Having a car on the AC is a headache and driving there is not for the faint of heart. Parking in Ravello will not be the only issue you face.

Where else will you be going that you feel a car is needed?
There are lots of ways to get to and enjoy the AC without a car.

Ah- now I see your plans here:

I'm sorry to be a downer, but in another post you mentioned that your husband walks with a cane and is a little unsteady. We were in Ravello in April, and it is beautiful, but it could be very stressful for you and your husband.

Thi s trip will be in May next year.
Maybe. We should rethink our plans on visiting Ravello.
We will be driving south from Florence through Tuscany and Umbria with several stops over two weeks, hoping to navigate some of the small towns. I thought it may have been nice to venture over to the coast but looking at responses this may not be a good idea.
Yes have looked at car rentals and they are expensive but fit into our budget
Thank you again

I'm sorry but I have to agree that getting around Ravello is not easy unless you stay somewhere on the Strada Provinciale 1. The drive to Ravello is very difficult and not for the faint of heart. I drove a yellow cab in NYC when I was young and it was a stressful white knuckle drive for me. Ravello is beautiful, but if you go try to find another way to get there. Perhaps leave the car in Salerno and either take the bus or a taxi to Ravello. Taxi will cost about 50 Euro for a 30 min ride. Bus is cheaper and will take an hour and a half.

Also consider the Travelmar ferries. They run April-October, and you could ride one from Salerno to Amalfi, and take a bus or taxi up to Ravello from there.
