Hi folks,
As I prepare to try for Last Supper tickets - a quick question: should we get tour tickets added on for € 9? Does anyone know if they offer audio tours for it? RS guide mentions that they are helpful if available? Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks! Sue
FYI I just purchased 4 tickets this morning for a visit in early October. I did add on what they referred to as 'the english speaking tour". I'm making the assumption that this would be to our advantage. When I printed out the information regarding our tickets it says we have 15 minutes in front of the painting and then a 30 minute tour in english. Where the tour goes I'm not exactly sure. It also stated that our 'wisper' devices will be with the 'guide' who will be waiting for us in front of the museum at our appointed time. I'm thinking for a few extra euros it's well worth it. Also if you are planning on going in Aug/Sept/Oct the tickets went on sale today.
Thanks for the reply! I was successful at buying our two tickets for Oct. - just the tickets and we'll see if audioguides are offered when we get there. If they aren't, we'll be fine just viewing the painting on our own. It will be the day we arrive, and we weren't sure what condition we'll be in for a guided tour. Happy to get the tickets! Thanks again.
I can't imagine why you would need a tour. It is just one big room with the painting on one end. There might have been a couple of other paintings, I honestly can't remember as I was so blown away by the Last Supper itself.
Possibly the "tour" will be just history of the painting, but I really don't think it is necessary.
I usually would not choose a tour for something like this but multiple people on this forum have said that the tour was excellent, well worth it, enhanced their exprience, etc. , so for just 9 euros extra, I went with the English tour. See enter link description here
We did the English tour
It was absolutely well worth it
I don’t think I would have been so impressed without it
Adds a lot of context and history
