Private driver Sorrento full Almafi coast

We had our hotel arrange for a driver from Naples down to Amalfi which cost 100 euros.

Have you asked your hotel? Rick on one of his shows hired a private driver, is there anything in RS books on this?

I always recommend that you ask your hotel if they have a land-partner agency. That company has a huge incentive to make sure you are a happy customer. We got to charge our two car-and-driver jobs, including our departure transfer to Naples rail station, to our hotel bill.

Edit: You didn't mention it, but having a driver is not the same as having a guide. As I note in the link above, for a first-time, general-interest traveler, our driver was as much as we needed. I could argue that the Green Grotto he recommended was not as good as I hoped, but it was not "poor". Does his brother-in-law run it? I don't know.

We did this last summer with Joe Banana Limos. They have a funny name, but are a very well regarded, professional company with safe, friendly drivers. We used them first for an all-day cruise excursion in 2019 and then again for several tours out of Sorrento in 2021. We honestly can't recommend them highly enough - and are signed up again with them for a tour next month. :)

We just left Sorrento and used Top Excursion Sorrento as well. Giovani was excellent to work with... very responsive, and our driver Miguel was fantastic. We used him for transfer to/from Napoli Centrale to Sorrento, as well as, a full day tour of the Amalfi Coast. Highly recommend!

We have a day trip from Sorrento to the Amalfi coast booked for later this month using Mondo Guide Tours as recommended in Rick’s book. They provide small group tours and even have a special website for Rick Steve’s clients.
