Places to stay in Sorrento

Any recommendations for reasonably priced hotels in town?
Thanks, Mark

il Nido (ilnido.it). This is above the town but they have good shuttle service. I've stayed here at least a dozen times. It's family run, my famorite Sorrento restaurant, 'to die for' breakfast buffet, amazing views. Gianni will take your reservation. Dino will greet you at the door. I seldom recommend hotels but I do so for il Nido without any reservation (pardon the pun?).

Reasonably priced is subjective, what do you consider reasonabl? We stayed here in late April 2023 and we thought it was reasonable for the area at about €250\night.

I see (in your other question) that this is April, 2026.

Note that Sorrento tends to book up six months in advance, more than that for June-September. Don't delay booking your hotel. Check for Palm Sunday, and Easter dates, and maybe Italian Independence Day.

@Allan, my budget range would be 200 to 275 euros. But it looks pretty booked up at this point so we may just stay in Rome and do long day trips down.

I wouldn't personally do multiple trips to Sorrento/Amalfi coast from Rome. Take a look at Salerno? You're apt to find less expensive accommodations there, bus/ferry transport services around the Amalfi coast, and good access to Pompeii and Naples by train. The only popular location in the AC that isn't especially convenient from there is Capri; takes abt. 90 minutes to 2 hours one-way by ferry. But another plus? Salerno has direct, high-speed rail service from Rome; no changes.

I’m curious what is in Sorrento that you’re trying to experience. Is there something you want to do or do you just want to experience the Amalfi Coast?

Because a day trip from Rome sounds exhausting to me unless there’s a specific reason it would make sense.

In Sorrento, we loved Il San Gaetano. Central location, boutique experience, great hosts, quiet, comfortable.
