Where is a good hotel to stay by the Naple airport? Our flight won’t get in until 10:15 pm and we will be headed the next day to spend 4 nights along Almalfi Coast. Also, where is a good base for Almalfi coast? We want to explore the towns and go to Capri. Thanks! We would like to stay somewhere nice, between 500-700 a night if possible.

Month and year of trip? It is really late for an area that books up six months in advance.
It is not necessary to spend that much to spend one night in Naples. Take a fixed-rate taxi (25 Euros, I think) to any downtown hotel. Make sure you have air conditioning if that's important to you. Street noise can be a problem in Naples, so you want A/C anyway. Maybe you'll have time for a Neapolitan pizza before you go on to your next destination. BTW, download the Fixed Rate Taxi sheet, because the driver may try to charge extras that are actually included. This is an .... .... entreprenurial ... area.

NAP is quite close to Naples center., about a 15 min taxi
I’d just book somewhere in Naples probably near train station so you are positioned well to move to your next location
How long will you have for your AC portion?
What other than Capri are you interested in?
Both Sorrento and Amalfi make good bases for different reasons

The Naples airport is very near downtown so you can stay anywhere. We like the Chiaia area near the water, Hotel Ambasciatore.
Amalfi, note spelling.
When are you planning to go there? Reservations are needed way in advance for hotels for this very crowded, popular area.

Amalfi is the best base for the Amalfi Coast. Amalfi is the most centrally located town on the coast, the other towns are easily accessible by bus and/or ferry.
Some people like Sorrento as a base for the coast but staying in Sorrento just adds lots of traveling time back and forth and limits your sightseeing time on the coast. Ravello is widely regarded as the nicest town on the coast because of Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone so take Ravello for example. The bus from Amalfi to Ravello takes about 30 minutes but the bus from Sorrento to Ravello takes about 2.5 hours with a bus change in Amalfi.
Positano also makes for a good base, it's nicer than Amalfi, but it's easier to catch buses in Amalfi so overall I think Amalfi makes a better base.
