I am looking to travel to Naples in April 2023. Anyone visit Naples recently?
I have traveled to Italy extensively but Naples is one of my least traveled areas. I have read everything from its horrible to it's beautiful. I went once back in 1999 and haven’t been back since.
Thoughts, please.
I first went to Naples in 2007 and have returned many times since, most recently in May of this year. It hasn’t changed over the years; it is horrible and beautiful and since you have been there before you may remember that.
depends on your expectations and level of acceptance. you have been there and seen/read the gamut of opinions from 'horrible to beautiful'. me - i passed through a few times in early 2000's and then stayed for 3 days in 2021. didn't bother me one bit but then i am from kolkata, india, and lived in los angeles for 32 years. in between, i have been to a few places around the world including italy. naples has amazing art and architecture but is no better or worse than anywhere else. i am sure others will chime in with a variety of viewpoints.
