Michelangelo secret room

Hello ,
I will be visiting Florence 22-29 August.
Is there any cancellation available for Michelangelo's secret room in that period?
I thought I had booked a slot some months ago but just realised that I didnt..

Hi, Giangilberto from Milan, honestly, I'd be giving you false hope by telling you you can find a ticket now. I just checked the official website, and the first available slots are in October. There's no mention of canceled tickets being re-sold. Perhaps the only option is to try calling the ticket office directly, but just to be on the safe side, I repeat, it's impossible for me to find a ticket now.
If you have any language problems I can offer to call and try to ask.
Absolutely don't try any reselling sites, many are unreliable.
If you find someone online selling you a slot on those dates at a higher price, that's precisely the case where the reservation gets cancelled at the last minute. At a sold-out monument, anyone selling availability that the official website doesn't have is selling something they don't have.

Hi Giangilberto,
Thank you for your reply!
I am organizing this trip from January and I was waiting the August slot to open, but just last week I realized that i forgot to do that..
I actually had an "offer" from a site, but it was way out of my budget (more than 15 times the official price). I also sent an email to btickets and they kindly informed me that there is none slot available.. The phone line is the same office isn't it?
And art is the reason i visit Florence..
Well, it will be the reason to plan a visit again in future..
Thank you for your valuable advices and helpful comments!
Still hope until last moment 😀

Welcome to the forum, elympos -
Don't fret too much over not being able to land a ticket for the Secret Room. Florence has more than enough art to fill MANY trips so you won't even miss it. As you wisely said, you'll just save it for your next adventure. :O)

I lost my mind over the art in Florence. Still looking for it. HA!

Hi, I think that they have the same phone number, have a look at link below, they say that you can call them to book you ticket.
Even if they send you an email telling you that they don't have any slot available maybe, if I were you, I'll try to call them.

But as Kate said, in Firenze you have so many art to discover don't worry if you'll don't find the ticket for the Michelangelo hidden room, keep it for your next visit.

Hi Kate, Hi Giangilberto.

Thank you for your helpful advices, and for your time to read and offer your kind responses.
I really appreciate every part of them!

When visiting a place for the first time maybe it is nice to leave a trigger for the next time 😃.
I also read that the bell tower is under maintenance, so if it is covered i will visit again to admire that as well.

Thank you.

I'd posted this about the bell tower (at the duomo) restoration earlier this year:
https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/italy/florence-upcoming-restoration-of-giotto-s-bell-tower

The Opera del Duomo website says that the top terrace is open for viewing, although views may be partially reduced. Of greater concern, though, is the restoration work at the baptistry and the scaffolding blocking the view of the vault mosaics. There is a tour one can take that allows an up-close look at some of them but having seen them unobscured, I'd wait on that one too. Work is scheduled for completion sometime in 2028. Wait until 2030/2031, when the bell tower work is scheduled to be completed, and you can also visit the expanded museum. Lots going on at the duomo!
