Nothing as constant as change...and restoration works in Florence, it seems!
To add to the painstaking work being done to the mosaics in the duomo's baptistry (estimated to be complete in 2029), exterior restoration work on the tower is scheduled to begin on March 9th, starting with erection of a creative scaffolding system that will take some 4 months or so to construct. Starting at the top of the tower, as phases of work are complete the scaffolding will be lowered to next level, revealing the finished section. Pretty cool.

Also in 2030, visitors can look forward to the completion of the duomo museum expansion project: nearly doubling its size!
