Hi All! We will be flying into Venice from Paris on May 3rd. How do we get from the airport to our hotel in Venice?
Kerry
Cheapest way is the VCTV #5 bus from VCE to the Piazzale Roma termination point then walk. It is a city bus so a lot a baggage is a problem.

See tips and links on this recent Forum thread: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/italy/train-station-in-venice-airport. Details are also spelled out in any Rick Steves' guidebook that cover Venice. Most hotels will also provide tips on their web sites, most important being hotel location and closest vaporetto (public boat) stop. The vaporetto is an alternative to walking from Piazzale Roma.
3 ways.
1. Bus-vaporetto combi ticket for 12 euro. Unless you are staying walking distance of Piazzale Roma, in which case you don't need the vaporetto. 12 euro
2. Alilaguna scheduled boats. 15 euro
3. Water taxi. About 100 euro for exclusive use of the boat for up to 8 people. About 40 euro pp for a shared taxi.
all the previous answers could be for anywhere in Venice. If you tell us where your hotel is, preferably its name, you can have accurate answers tailored just to you.
You won't want to walk to all the possible choices, and for many it is impractical or impossible.
The other advice of looking at you r hotel's webpage is very helpful too. They probably even have a map.
are you sure you are landing at Marco Polo? Some airlines use Treviso.
We are staying in San Marco at Palazzo Minelli.
The hotel's website gives directions for all 3 options: http://www.minellipalace.com/en/dove-siamo.html

The hotel website mentioned above walks through the walking route but unfortunately they don't turn that into a highlighted map. Some people understand best with words, some with visuals.
It is worth walking through the route on a very good map or with Google Earth or Streetview so that you can be familiar with the route.
I know it quite well around La Fenice and it is possible to get turned around there and a bit confused. Checking it before is really helpful.
That area is one of the ones frequented by Commissario Brunetti (fictional) in the stories by Donna Leon.
