Hi all, hopefully you can help.
We are travelling from Naples to Positano in late May 2018 by train & we are considering stopping off at Pompeii on the way through.
We will have 2 large suitcases & 2 carry on cases, is there somewhere safe to store at the Pompeii Scavi train station, or at the Pompeii site?
if we can store at Pompeii is it a long walk from the train station?

I stopped at Pompeii on my way to Sorrento, the baggage check was very conveniently located in the station, and only steps away from Pompeii itself. No worries.

As you probably know, the final leg from Sorrento to Positano is by bus, ferry, or taxi. Bus seems more convenient than ferry for luggage handling purposes, since it departs near the Sorrento train station and serves some uphill stops in Positano (and then hopefully, your lodging will be downhill). (I also saw mini-trucks hauling gear around Positano.)
When you say "2 large suitcases & 2 carry on cases," how large do you mean? Our preferred suitcases meet airline-carry-on size requirements and our second, smaller bags are just small totes, shoulder bags, or "day" backpacks. More than this becomes difficult in a variety of situations.
