Lucca - Places to eat, things to see?

In May we will be spending some time in Tuscany, with several days HQ'd in Lucca. Staying at the Hotel Ilaria. Any suggestions on reasonable places for lunch/dinner? Any "don't miss" sights in Lucca? We'll be spending one day in Pisa and another at Carrarra.

Two ladies did a day trip to Lucca in March 2014 from our home base in Florence. We engaged Wanda (Vanda) Martinelli from www.luccatours.com to be our guide. She is a native of Lucca and knows all there is to know about the city, past and present. She was very enjoyable and accommodating. Her email when we communicated was [email protected]. We ate at Ristorante Giglio and enjoyed the food and the outdoor setting. The town closes for riposo, so there was not much for us to do after our morning tour. I'm sure Wanda could advise you, though, as we had just the day allocated for our tour of Lucca.

Walk or bike the walls, take a picnic with you for lunch if you like. Concerts nearly every day (Puccini was born here). Towers to climb, beautiful architecture.
