I am a frequent poster on some other travel forums, but new to RS forum.
RS forum seems to have a lot of experienced travelers and I think I may get some better information and answer to my questions here than other places.
So, let me post my first question…
My wife and I are just starting to plan our first trip to Italy in May/June of 2025. We will have quite a bit of time to explore and are planning stops for multiple days in a number of areas.
One of our stops will be Salerno as a base to visit the Amalfi coast.
Our main goal of the visit to the Amalfi area is for the pictures. I was thinking of taking the ferry to Positano just for the pictures and perhaps a coffee/snack near the dock. Due to some knee issues, we really are not interested in walking the town (up the hills or down the hills).
We will have plenty of hills and walking in other parts of Italy and really do not want to walk the hills of Positano during a brief visit.
So, would Positano be worth a stop for just pictures from the sea or not?
We will be stopping at Amalfi and taking a bus/taxi to Ravello.
Will the pictures we get in Amalfi and Ravello and along the other ferry stops along the way from Salerno be similar to what Positano would offer or would the pictures from the sea and dock area in Positano be worth a visit there?
