Holy Week in Rome and Florence, hotels?

I just booked my flights to Italy. I’ll be landing in Rome April 1 and leaving April 9. I had no idea that’s apparently Holy Week. Will I even be able to get a modestly priced hotel? Can anyone make recommendations? I’ve never been to Rome, only Florence, so I have no idea where to stay, but I’m open to suggestions. I need it to be safe, clean, have WiFi and be as centrally locates to FCO and tourist sites as possible.

I’ve never traveled to Europe alone. Although it will be an adventure, I’m also nervous, so any input is appreciated.

Just start looking!

I like booking.com- you can set filters for price, location, AC, wifi etc.
Read the reviews as they are only given there by folks who have actually stayed at hotel
Check the hotel's actual website to compare prices- book with whichever is the best.

In Rome- I'd recommend Hotel Due Torri- great location in the historical center.

(Just checked 4/7, 4/8- they have availability- 348€ for 2 nights. refundable with bkft--not sure what your dates are or your budget) That's not a bad price for Easter week in Rome ;)

A taxi to/from FCO is fixed 48€- that is the easiest way to get to your hotel. Otherwise- Leonardo Express (14€) to Termini then from there I'd grab a cab- probably about 10€

We've never stayed near Termini- but some here do and like the location. We like to be near Pantheon/P Navonna
Here is a recent thread with some hotel recommendations
