Help with travel from Naples to Cinque Terre please!

Hi, my husband and I will be on the RS Best of Southern Italy tour ending in Naples on May 8, 2025. We have reservations for a few nights up in the Cinque Terre beginning that day. I am trying to book one-way train tickets for May 8 using rome2rio (Napoli Centrale to Corniglia) but it is only showing bus options. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can someone please help me? Thanks!

Schedules for May are not complete yet. Look at eg. tomorrow and compare that with what you find on may 8. It should be more or less the same, unless you are just looking to far ahead.

In Italy you do not need to book train tickets half a year in advance. Just wait till March or so.

I agree that you are just looking too far ahead. Use the Trenitalia website, which is the train line you'll be riding, and look at the schedule for a day this week. That will give you an idea of what should be available. But wait until at least a couple of months before your trip to book. On Trenitalia you need to use the Italian place names, so you would start from Napoli Centrale. It looks like tickets are currently available into March, with frequent trains, some taking only 6 - 6 1/2 hours and a couple of train changes.

Trainline is a 3rd party reseller- may or may not offer all your options, charges a fee

Use the official train site
Trenitlaia

https://www.trenitalia.com/content/tcom/en.html

Also has an easy to use app

Rome2rio is a fun/handy tool- use it strictly for research to see what your travel options are, how long it might take, etc. It is NOT always accurate or complete

Go to the official train/bus sites to purchase tix
