Any suggestions on purchasing travel health insurance. Appreciate any info or experiences
We use GeoBlue. We had to submit a claim after an urgent care type visit for a foot injury while in France last year.
It wasn't complicated (keep all receipts to submit when you return home) and we were reimbursed rather quickly.
Others on the forum have suggested Allianz.
Insuremytrip.com and squaremouth.com are good starting points to see options and costs.
There is a good article here on the site:

I looked at the RS article about four months ago and I found it considerably less informative than I thought it would be.
So I asked the forum, learned a lot, and went on line elsewhere to learn a good bit more. I also looked at our own Medicare Supplemental Insurance and spoke with our health insurance agent.
I ended up getting very different coverage than I first planned. I ended up getting Medical Evacuation coverage which also includes a good amount for medical care coverage, rather than the cancellation coverage I first considered. And it was very affordable for what is offered.
My journey, including other RS Forum threads that I found to be useful and other internet sources that I thought were useful and credible are all included in the following: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/general-europe/travel-in-urance
My big motivation in getting this insurance is that we are now biking on our trips to Europe. Last year, I fell. Did not need medical care but started thinking, what if I did? And I have a friend who broke a leg in France, needed hospital care there and could not fly home for 7 weeks due to the nature of her injury. Folks on the forum talked about about medical evacuation to the USA costs and my eyes were wide open.
Turns out the cost for med evac insurance plus $50K heathy care coverage included is pretty cheap!
I hope my thread and the linked sites are useful to you … and others.

Ignore the website appearance.
Great service, very good prices.
I use American Express and by $1 million in coverage for evacuation and health coverage for up to a month for both wife and self for about $ 60.
