Guided Tour of Trieste, Pickup in Venice (Chioggia) drive to Trieste & drop off back in Venice

Is there any guided tour for two adults that will pick us up at the cruise port in Chioggia, drive to Trieste, show us around Trieste, and get us back to the ship in Chioggia? We have all day.

Thanks.

hey hey a_schapira
wow that's a long trip, about 2 1/2 hours one way tour then back 2 1/2-3 hours back. why did you chose trieste? i would pick a city/town closer to chioggia, since it's about an hour to venice.
if you're able to find a tour/taxi it will cost $$$$$$. good luck

You might get better responses if you post your question on a cruise related forum
Not a cruise person but I believe cruisecritic.com is one

Agree with above -that is a long haul
I would worry about getting back to ship on time

You might check daytrip.com to get an idea of cost of transportation

I couldn't get Mydaytrip to even estimate a one-day, round trip from Chioggia to Trieste (unless I'm doing something wrong.) I'll agree that they're much too far apart to try and do in a day, and with absolute need to be back at the ship on time besides.

Choosing a location that's much close would be advised. Padua? Venice?

Thanks to all who replied. Why Trieste? We heard that its beautiful and want to see it if possible. Also, our ship will be in port (Chioggia) over-night, so getting back on time is not an issue. Finally, we'd consider taking a train to Trieste from Chioggia and back if its not too complicated. Anyone done this? Thanks. --Al

hey hey a_schapira
i would stay close to chioggia. check the train site Christine H mentioned and put your stations and times you want to travel, especially coming back, chioggia to venezia mestre is an hour away (train or bus)
there is many beautiful places all over italy. when is this trip?
take a train ride to treviso, home to tiramisu and radicchio, and known as "little venice"
justgoplacesblog.com (7 amazing things to do in treviso)
you are near prosecco region, the gorgeous hills and views. few years back we did a tour of prosecco road and the villages around with a local born, raised and living there. if interested let me know, i'll send you her info, not only prosecco she does private tours around the area. you would have to figure what you want and wish for and ask her.
hope all works out for you and have a great time, enjoy

Bus to Mestre then
Train to Trieste.
Two hours and 55 minutes each way.

I’ve been to Trieste a many times only because it is an hour’s drive from our Croatian apartment. We’ll go to do a little shopping and have lunch. Otherwise, there really isn’t anything to see except for the architecture.
The castle Miramar is really just a large home, not a palace or castle - I’ve seen it described as both.
If you don’t have pre-booked tickets you won’t get in.
The last time we were there was September 2024. They did clean the city up, especially the buildings but still not much to do.
