how's the crowds and Lines at Amsterdam. Luggage? plan on checking luggage.

We went through Schipol this spring and it was a breeze. My brother-in-law is a city planner who has traveled quite a bit in Europe and it is his favorite EU airport. You will only go through customs there in Amsterdam because when you land in Florence you will be arriving from another Schengen country. Enjoy your trip.
