eating in Venice

hi. We just arrived in Venice and are staying at the Ala Hotel which was recommended on this blog. I'd like recommendations of off the beaten path restaurants, tapas, bars to go to. thanks

Might I suggest that if you wander away from the
“ sites “ that your exploration will result in discovering cafes and restaurants on your own.

Ask front desk staff or shop keepers where they eat.

During my stay there one Christmas the man who sold fruit shared his favorite dining spot.

No clue if still operating but see if Trattoria da ‘a Marisa is open and serving. It’s far from the Madding Crowd.
