Have been successful accessing the timetables and destinations for the DD (direct) bus from Vespucci Aeroporto to Lucca Piazalle Giuseppe Verdi, but having difficulty seeing info about buying tickets? I have read that buying on board the bus is a bit more expensive, and that "contactless" ticketing is now available on the bus. Are there ticket machines at the airport and/or can tickets be purchased online? Any additional info on ticketing is much appreciated.

The extra charge for buying on board is less than a couple of euro, so the ticket to Lucca might cost you 10 euro instead of 8, or something like that.

I am sure there will be an automatic kiosk or an Autolinee Toscane ticket vendor (maybe a tobacconist's shop) at the airport. The airport website seems to suggest the two places below may sell tickets.

Another option, as suggested in the Autolinee Toscane website, is to use the app Tabnet, the app of Italian tobacconists' shops Federation. It's available on Google Play or Apple Store. I've never used it, so I don't know if it's in English too. Check.
