Day trips from Florence?

We are in Florence for 4 days, any day trips worth taking from Florence? Open to any and all suggestions!

Note that some destinations are better done by rental car than public transit (I'll encourage the public transit method for any number of reasons). Find more discussions by typing "Day trips from Florence" into the search box at the top of this page. The most popular are probably Siena, Lucca, Pisa, and Fiesole. The Cinque Terre tends to see a lot of interest as well but I don't personally recommend taking that one on as a day trip. Bologna is a possibility too.

Editing to add: but please don't take so many day trips that you short Florence itself? Again, it depends on your interests but the city offers a lot to see. Do you have 4 FULL days (5 nights) or is one of those a travel day to Florence from somewhere else, so is only a partial?

There’s Siena (1h 15) by direct bus.
Pisa (1h) by direct train.
Lucca (2h) by direct train.
