I am arriving in Paris in April and flying the same day to Venice. This is because I will spend time in Paris at the end of my trip. If I get an antigen test before I leave the US, and have to wait 10 hours between flights I don"t believe I will still be ok to enter Italy. Will they make an exception or can I get another test at the airport? Hopefully Italy will lift their swap requirement to enter as France has just done. I believe it's 72 hours in Itay if you get the PCT (don't think I spelled it right) but it takes 3 days to get results which would not fall under the 72 hour guidelines. Unless it's when you get the results not when you take it. Perhaps I can get an answer from the embassy.

Why not just fly to Venice from US??
Discussed here

They will not “make an exception” for you
During your 10 hours between flights, why don't you just get an antigen test done? It would meet the 24 hour requirement. You could test at the airport or (my choice) bring a telemedicine covid test with you. I've used the Binax now Covid Ag card a few times now and it works great. The entire process takes about 20 minutes and you have immediate result. It does require you to be online.
You can also get a test at the airport if it ends up being necessary.
I should have gotten an open jaw ticket, but got a cheap flight from Steve's cheap flights, although it turned out not to be so cheap. Maybe I can change it as I paid the $150 extra. That would solve alot of problems!
If I can't I will look into that self test online. Good idea. Thanks.
I have a feeling at the airport it would be quite expensive, but if I have to I'll do it. I thought of leaving the airport to get one.
I just glanced quickly at this
Looks like testing at CDG not available for transit passengers
https://easycdg.com/covid-19-essential-information-paris-charles-de-gaulle-airport/
Easiest option would be the proctored self test
That test has been discussed here many times, do a search for info
Check with the airlines you are flying to Italy as well to be sure they accept that test
Or just get a PCR done at home within 72 before you leave and yes you have to have the results before boarding flight to Italy
With luck Italy will drop their entry test soon
That’s what I am hoping for
What is "Steve's Cheap Flights"?
A business that spends their time researching cheap flight and mistake fares. They don't profit from your flights bit you have to pay $50 a year for the service. Can get it for $25 if you sign up when you first go to their sight. You also have a 1 week free trial, but then you will have to pay the $50. Several really good flights will pop up in your email everyday. Right now $450 to Paris, $350-450 to Rome. Better, other places. Take a look. I'm sorry it's Scottscheapflights.com.
