Car rental from Florence(driving out only) going to Ciampino near Rome

I'm in a similar position in April 2025, but my pick up location in Florence is with Europcar near Firenze Santa Maria Novella Station. Drop off location is near the same station but in a different location and there are ZTL everywhere.

I contacted Europcar and here's their explanation...

Thank you for contacting Europcar.

Regarding your request, we inform you that both the office and the car
park of our headquarters in Florence City are located outside the
limited traffic zone.

At the rental counter, upon collection, colleagues show all customers
the map attached below, providing all the information to avoid the
restricted traffic zones.

Very often in that area fines are issued for accessing a lane reserved
for other commercial vehicles or taxis and not restricted traffic
zones.*

My suggestion is for you to call your rental company and pose the same question to them.

We rented at Ciampino and it was really easy to get out, just a couple of local streets and then we were on the highway. So returning there should be similarly easy. Good luck!
