Buying tickets for Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine

we are a family of four. Our kids are of age 6 and 10. I read that they get free admission. I went to http://etickets.coopculture.it to buy but I've couple of questions.

  1. Do I still need to buy $2 Free+Reservation for kids?
  2. Can I print tickets online? I see only pickup@ticket office option.
  3. can I pick a date and time to visit? I didn't see that option either.
  4. I don't see USA under nationality!
  5. For underground tour, do I need separate tickets? kids get free admission?

Thank you in advance

  1. I think so, but I'm not sure. Let's wait for some expert to chime in.
  2. You can print at home only the basic entrance ticket without adding any tour.
  3. No, you can't. Basic entrance tickets have a "shelf life" of many months. They can be used up to December 2017, if I'm not wrong. Of course if you're booking a tour you must select date and time.
  4. Stati Uniti (d'America)
  5. Yes, you need; but you can purchase all of them on the same site. No they don't.

If you are interested in the Underground tour you could appreciate a visit to Nero's Domus Aurea. It's still an active archaeological site out of the ordinary management: kids older than 6 must pay.

I second the suggestion for Domus Aurea. I think it's only open on weekends. You get to wear a "hard hat" during the tour.
