Borghese Gallery Tickets

I'm trying to book tickets at Borghese Gallery using the suggested website from RS Italy book
www.tosc.it and it asks for Fiscal Number when completing information. I tried using my passport number and then Drivers license
number but it won't accept it. Any suggestions??

Lisa, when you enter USA as your country as well as check "individual" it will automatically fill in the fiscal code. If it doesn't just enter EE1.

I wasn’t comfortable entering my SSN, so I called them & booked it that way instead.

bxrlover, no one has said that one must use a SSN. You do not need to use that number for ANY booking anywhere at all, that I've ever been aware of, nor should you.

Hi Kathy,

I couldn’t proceed with my booking without entering that info online.

bxrlover, Think a minute at the all thing: who would ever care about a SSN in Italy? 90% of Italians don't even know what's that for or what's an Identity theft.

An Italian Fiscal Code can be freely calculated by anyone who has a name, a surname and was born on planet Earth after the 25th of December of Year Zero. The algorithm is purposely public. It's not a "secrete code" like your SSN. Do You want one? Enter the above data here http://codicefiscale.it/

bxrlover, You were probably using chrome with the auto-translate option activated. Mr. Google, being based on frequency and not on verifying, has decided that the best translation for Codice Fiscale is SSN and nobody can make "it" change its mind.

Turn auto-translate off, switch to the English version of the site and select/enter Stati Uniti as country: the site will automatically fill that field with EE1.

I agree with darioalb. I used the English site (not the translation) on Chrome and there was no issue. I was able to book online and print out the voucher at home. When you arrive at the Gallery, allow 30 min. to get your actual ticket, check your bags (but not coats), pick up the audio guide, and use the restroom.
Enjoy!

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions.! I even tried using my SS# and it wouldn't accept that either.
So finally I put in EE1 as was suggested and that worked. I got all the way to the end and it said there were no more tickets available.
I repeated the process several more times using other dates and times and got the same response SO in frustration
I went to Viator and easily got tickets for the day and time I wanted paying 5 Euro more. My suggestion to anyone
else is NOT to use the www.tosc.it website but Viator instead.

The official site doesn't ask for your ssn so I'm not sure where you saw that. It asks for a fiscal code which is EE1 but will auto-populate when you check "individual" as well as choose USA or Canada.

I didn't have any issues buying tickets from the site either, and they're much more expensive through the Viator site. I'm not seeing any adult general-entry tickets on Viator for under $36.00 and they're € 17.00 (approx. $20.53 U.S.) on TicketOne (currently no special exhibits).

But whatever works!

Just FYI, ALL general-entry tickets are skip-the-line as there is no ticket line at the Borghese due to mandatory pre-reservation. Each time-slot group enters together after they're cleared the gallery of visitors booked for the previous 2-hour slot. The queue at that museum is at the cloakroom as almost everything on you has to be checked. That's why the museum asks that you be there at least 30 minutes before your reservation time.

Actually, there is a line up right before they allow you to enter the gallery. They have a roped off area inside the waiting area and people gather there to wait their turn to scan their tickets to enter. This could take about 10 minutes but it's not a big deal.

Right. Not really a queue of any concern compared to the Colosseum and Vatican, and no one skips that one, to my knowledge, except maybe some of the higher-end private tours. Not sure.
