booking a Colosseum Full experience ticket

We are traveling to Rome in October and I see that on the official site that you can only book 1 month in advance. However, eveytime the I go on the site to get a feel for when the tickets open up, I am unable to access the day, even the current day. I am in Vancouver, Canada and they are 9 hours ahead so it makes phoning challenging. Has anyone successfully navigated this online? Is there a trick? When does the day actually open? I need the reservation for October 9th but don't want to wait to figure it out, I want to be ready. I have looked at tour companies for the same thing and they are way more expensive than the official site. Thanks for your help.

We are trying to book the full experience for October as well, a little later than your trip and seeing the same as you. I've set the alarm for 3am onwards, we are 6 hours behind, and no availability for the day that should be opening up. Hopefully some wise person has the answer.
When we tried to book the Vatican Museum, we jumped into the queue right at midnight their time when the individual museum tickets went on sale. Too many people in queue at the same time and we missed out. Booked the tour with their guide which was not much more price wise and much less than an outside tour company.

Thanks Carol but the thread you are referencing is all 2012. To say that info is out of date would be putting it mildly.

The tickets open 30 days before the desired date and roll open according to the time of day. We recently did this, got up to be online at 3AM EDT (9AM Rome) in order to book the earliest Colosseum ticket time which for our date was at 9:15AM. The Coopculture website was extremely slow, wanky and inconsistent. It took us multiple (20+) attempts to reserve tickets. It was very frustrating but, ultimately, we did manage to book tickets for 9:50AM. Good luck!
