We are traveling to Bologna for two nights in September. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a hotel - I'm not looking for anything fancy, just clean, comfortable, and centrally located. Thank you!
Just a few weeks back, I was in Bologna for the first time. Stayed at the Hotel Internazionale. A short walk from the train station and an equally short walk from the historic center of Bologna. Very nice hotel. Lovely room, delightful breakfast buffet and a quiet courtyard bar area, exclusively for hotel guests. Very clean. Hotel personnel very friendly and ready to assist. Price-wise, I would say moderate. I would definitely recommend the hotel.
We had several friends last fall stay at the Royal Hotel Carleton. They walked there from the train station, jet lagged with luggage, and stayed one night before departing for Ravenna to get on a cruise. They were very happy there and it looks moderately priced depending on your dates - I would say it is a very American type hotel…
It's been a few years but the 3 stars Hotel University is functional, decent, relatively inexpensive lodging that isn't doesn't pretend to be anything different. It's in the old town nearish the University about ten minutes walk from Piazza Nettuno and surrounded by a bunch of eateries and coffee places - often with shockingly cheap student friendly pricing.
Enjoy Bologna,
